Description

I hadn't realized how long it's been since I submitted anything. :p I guess I got more distracted with the mod/admin stuff than I thought.

My entry for

Here it is in context:

Well, to be completely honest -- I'm not a huge fan of this design.

I feel like the Target-esque bullseye is a kind of played-out design element. I see it everywhere. They also seems to be pretty randomly duplicated.

I would have liked to see the eagle a little more integrated into the design -- perhaps transitioning from a digital image to an illustration and breaking off into the design, to pull it all together. As it is, they're pretty separate. Also, why is the eagle rainbow-colored? :p

Not really digging the maroonish-purple color (except where it interacts with the yellow-orange line behind the eagle). The green and the red work well together, and they don't suggest Christmas, which is a plus (thumbup)

I find this a very enjoyable piece of art Brett. The background designs are interesting and well composed and you did a great job with the Bald Eagle.

"Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn? Remember how she said that we would meet again one sunny day. Vera ... Vera ... what has become of you? Does anybody else in here feel the way I do?"

Don't mind me ... I'm having a Floyd reminiscence.

it's a nice and colorful addition to the wall.
I like the background.

@Brandon

Totally agree about the cliche' of the target. But this piece was a quick attempt to make up for a corrupt file :( Though none of them are arbitrarily placed.

The maroon color was to work off Sandra's piece...
I can see the 'lack' of interaction between photo and design elements. To compensate I used landscape-esque elements and also incorporated some funky colors to the eagle...thus the rainbow :p

To be honest, as a standalone piece I too find this to be pretty weak. As a way of following off of Sandra's work and adding some variety to the wall I think it's came out somewhat ok.

Just "ok"? ;) I think it looks awesome! To be honest, this is one of my favourite parts in the wall. I love the colorful eagle, the bullseye-thingies, and the palette of green and purple colors. You made a good transition of my work, by reflecting some of the colors, and yet adding something new. :)

I agree with what you said in your last paragraph, except for the ok part. Oh well, I totally agree with Sandra. I judge this as part of the whole wall deal. ;)

Nice work, I like this part of wall, because it is various. I like diferent styles and diferent category in the wall.
Sorry, I can't to write all what I want, because my English is quite poor.

This is excellent work Brett. As a whole this wall seemed even more seamless and your part was no exception. Fantastic design elements in there. I am useless at design by the way so bravo.
